THINGS TO PONDER
besides the usual questions like....Why do we dream?
When hiring a bartending service for your small private party at your house, it's important to ask a few key questions to ensure that they are the right fit for your event. Here are some questions you should ask:
-
What type of bartending services do you offer? - This will help you determine if they offer the specific services you need for your event, such as creating signature cocktails, serving wine and beer only, etc.
-
How many bartenders will be provided? - This will depend on the size of your party, but typically one bartender is needed for every 50 guests.
-
What is included in the service? - Ask what items are included in the bartending service, such as the bar, glassware, ice, garnishes, etc. Some services may charge extra for these items.
-
Do you have liability insurance? - It's important to hire a bartending service that has liability insurance to protect you in case of any accidents or incidents that may occur during the party.
-
What is your pricing structure? - Make sure you understand how the bartending service charges for their services, whether it's hourly, per guest, or a flat fee.
-
Do you have any specialty drinks or cocktail packages? - If you have a specific drink or cocktail in mind, ask if the bartending service can accommodate it. Some services may offer packages with pre-designed drink menus.
-
Can you provide references or reviews? - Ask for references or reviews from past clients to ensure that the bartending service has a good reputation and is reliable.
By asking these questions, you can ensure that the bartending service you hire is the right fit for your small private party at your house.
As an expert in the mobile bartending industry, I can identify several potential problems that may arise during an event. Being aware of these issues and proactively addressing them can help ensure a successful and enjoyable experience for both the bartenders and guests.
-
Running out of supplies: It's crucial to have an accurate estimate of the number of guests and their preferences to ensure that there's enough alcohol, mixers, and garnishes to last the entire event.
-
Inadequate glassware: Not having enough or the appropriate types of glassware for the drinks being served can lead to delays and disappointment among guests.
-
Insufficient ice: Underestimating the amount of ice needed for chilling drinks, mixing cocktails, and serving on the rocks can negatively impact the quality of the beverages.
-
Over-serving or intoxicated guests: Bartenders must monitor guests' alcohol consumption and handle intoxicated individuals with tact, ensuring their safety and the overall atmosphere of the event.
-
Slow service: Having an insufficient number of bartenders or a disorganized bar setup can lead to slow service and long wait times for guests, diminishing their experience.
-
Poor communication: A lack of clear communication between the host, bartenders, and other event staff can result in confusion, delays, or unmet expectations.
-
Unanticipated weather conditions: Outdoor events can be impacted by unexpected weather changes, such as rain, heat, or wind. These conditions may require quick adaptation and modifications to the bar setup.
-
Equipment malfunction: Issues with equipment, such as broken shakers, clogged pourers, or non-functional refrigeration, can disrupt the smooth operation of the bar service.
-
Licensing and permits: Not having the necessary permits or licenses for serving alcohol at an event can result in legal consequences or even the cancellation of the event.
-
Allergies or dietary restrictions: Failing to account for guests with allergies or specific dietary restrictions may limit their beverage options and impact their experience.
By being aware of these potential problems and taking preventive measures, bartenders can ensure a smoother event and provide excellent service for their clients.

THE BELOVED SAGA WE CALL "GLASSWARE"
When it comes to glassware, we understand that it can be a real hassle. Not only does it require a rental company, but it can also be costly and time-consuming to deal with. But don't worry, we've got you covered!
If you need glassware for your event, we can look into rental options for you at an extra charge. However, we also recommend using hard plastic cups, which can save you time and money. Plus, they're much safer than glassware, especially if you're hosting a party near a pool or hot tub.
And if you're a regular entertainer, we're happy to use your personal glassware and clean as we go. While it may slow down service a bit, we're always happy to roll the dice and do what it takes to make sure you and your guests have a great time.
"Keep it simple - let Julie take care of the bar. She's hilarious and trustworthy. We use her for all our house parties! You don't realize what a gift it is to yourself and your guests to not have to worry about the drinks and everyone always feels extra special when they see a bartender!"-Local Artist Kerryn D.
